Job Summary

The Vice President of SoC Development is a senior executive responsible for leading high-volume, complex SoC development on cutting-edge nodes across multiple market segments, including mobile, automotive, data center, networking, and IoT.

This role provides local leadership for all Solutions Engineering teams at Arm’s Bangalore Design Center, the largest hub globally for SE. As part of a global matrix organization, the VP will drive next-generation technology projects, collaborate with leading foundries and EDA companies, oversee DFT and test architectures, manage post-silicon activities, ensure quality assurance, and scale high-volume production.

The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of semiconductor technologies, a proven track record in delivering high-impact SoC projects, and the ability to lead and inspire a large team in a global networked organization.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a world-class team of front-end design and verification engineers.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Support the growth and engagement of the entire Bangalore-based SoC engineering team, regardless of functional reporting lines.
SoC Delivery & Execution:
- Ensure the on-time, on-spec, and on-budget delivery of multiple parallel SoC projects, covering architecture, front-end, physical design, and post-silicon phases.
- Drive the high-volume production ramp-up with silicon partners, ensuring scalability, cost efficiency, and optimal product delivery.
Technology & Process Innovation:
- Work globally with R&D leadership and CAD teams to identify and implement efficiency improvements in chip development processes.
- Champion automated design optimizations, advanced simulation techniques, and AI-driven methodologies.
- Oversee cost functions and optimizations throughout the entire development and productization lifecycle.
Quality & Reliability Assurance:
- Ensure robust design and development workflows, implementing rigorous reliability analysis and QA protocols.
Industry Engagement & Representation:
- Represent Arm at key industry events and forums to drive thought leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience

15+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with significant leadership roles in SoC development across multiple market segments.
Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing global teams.
Expertise in collaborating with leading foundries and EDA partners on advanced semiconductor process technologies.
Deep knowledge of design methodologies, DFT techniques, post-silicon activities, and high-volume production scaling.
Track record of efficiency improvements and quality assurance in SoC development.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a strong ability to influence across all levels.
Willingness to travel as required.
