Job Synopsis

Houston Talented Consultancy is seeking a dependable and skilled Ambulance Driver to join our healthcare team in Coimbatore. The Ambulance Driver will be responsible for safely transporting patients, medical staff, and emergency equipment to and from medical facilities. The ideal candidate will be reliable, compassionate, and prepared to handle high-pressure situations with a focus on patient care and safety. This role is critical in supporting healthcare operations, particularly in emergency scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate an ambulance to transport patients, medical staff, and equipment to designated healthcare facilities.
Maintain a high standard of driving in compliance with traffic laws, regulations, and healthcare safety protocols.
Ensure the ambulance is fully equipped and operational before each trip, including checking medical equipment, fuel levels, and vehicle cleanliness.
Assist patients in and out of the ambulance and provide basic patient care support when required.
Coordinate with medical teams to ensure timely transportation and response to emergencies.
Maintain detailed records of transportation schedules, mileage, patient information, and other relevant data.
Report any vehicle breakdowns or accidents promptly to supervisors.
Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines during patient transportation.
Provide emergency assistance when needed and collaborate with medical personnel to ensure proper care.
Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency calls as part of a dynamic healthcare team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in First Aid and CPR (preferred but not required).
Knowledge of road safety, traffic laws, and emergency response procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent physical fitness and the ability to manage physically demanding tasks, such as assisting patients.
Attention to detail and adherence to strict safety and medical protocols.
Ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Experience

At least 1-2 years of experience in a driving role, preferably in healthcare or emergency services.
Experience operating larger vehicles, such as ambulances or transport vans, is a plus.
Previous experience in an emergency response or healthcare setting is highly preferred.

Working Hours

Full-time role, 40 hours per week.
Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, depending on operational needs.
On-call duties may be required for emergency situations.
