Team: Ethics and Compliance

Position: Inventory Analyst


Role Purpose

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing and reconciling inventory-related transactions for refined products. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy in inventory accounting, reconciling third-party custody statements with internal records (SAP), resolving balancing issues, and managing storage/handling fee validations and payments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile truck, bulk, and retail inventory activities using ERP and IES tools

  • Perform reconciliations in non-ERP/IES environments

  • Validate invoices and prepare coding templates for payment processing

  • Investigate and resolve inventory imbalances in exchanges and physical product flows

  • Identify and resolve storage and handling fee discrepancies

  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve errors

  • Identify internal control gaps and recommend remediation

  • Maintain effective internal and external business relationships

  • Collaborate with front office teams, volume control, settlement analysts, and 3rd parties

  • Support accurate and timely month-end closings

  • Solving complex reconciliation issues with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


Qualifications & Experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Experience:

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines (e.g., month-end close)

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and bias for action

  • Collaborative work ethic with a proven track record of delivery


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with WinDMS scheduling application

  • Exposure to SAP interface queues, B2B & B2C queries

  • General accounting and reconciliation experience

  • Familiarity with Product Supply Business operations

  • Knowledge of payables and receivables
