Customer Success Engineer – HashiCorp (An IBM Company)

About the Role – Customer Success Engineer (CSE)

As a Customer Success Engineer, you will be a key technical advisor to customers, ensuring successful adoption, integration, and optimization of HashiCorp tools. You will work closely with clients to clear technical blockers, accelerate implementation, and drive value attainment, ultimately ensuring on-time renewals and product expansion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own customer success for assigned accounts, ensuring smooth onboarding, adoption, and expansion.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert on HashiCorp tools, helping customers optimize and integrate them into their workflows.
  • Understand and document customer goals, challenges, and technical requirements.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure customer retention and product renewals.
  • Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to enhance the HashiCorp toolchain.
  • Lead escalations for critical customer issues, ensuring successful resolution.
  • Ensure account health tracking through Gainsight, documenting key insights and actions.
  • Assist in developing technical content to support customer education and adoption.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of experience in solution architecture, sales engineering, technical account management, or similar roles.
Technical proficiency in:

  • Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, and Identity Management.
  • HashiCorp tools (e.g., Terraform, Vault, Nomad, Consul, Vagrant, Packer).
  • Microservices, Containers, Scheduling Platforms.
    ✔ Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
    ✔ Experience in project planning and customer implementation of technical products.
    ✔ Passion for learning new technologies and working in dynamic environments.
    ✔ Ability to work cross-functionally and drive adoption of technical use cases.
    ✔ Excellent communication skills, including the ability to handle customer objections.
    ✔ Experience mitigating customer risks and ensuring long-term satisfaction.
    ✔ Comfortable in a hybrid work model (2 days remote, 3 days in office).
