As a Database Administrator (DBA) for Cassandra and MongoDB, you will play a critical role in maintaining enterprise database health, ensuring availability, performance, and security across on-premises and public cloud environments (AWS or GCP). You will also lead initiatives in automation, monitoring, and operational excellence, contributing to business continuity and efficiency.
Database Operations
Maintain and support on-prem and cloud-hosted Cassandra and MongoDB databases
Ensure high availability via proactive monitoring, health checks, and self-healing solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents under incident/problem/change management processes
Participate in DR (Disaster Recovery) testing and upgrades/migrations
Collaboration & Leadership
Coordinate with application, engineering, infrastructure, and vendor teams
Provide technical guidance to contractors and global teams
Performance & Automation
Optimize performance, reduce latency, and enhance capacity planning
Automate routine tasks and build self-service tools
Improve alerting and monitoring using tools like Splunk, ELK, or Grafana
4+ years’ experience as a Cassandra DBA in a production support environment
Experience managing MongoDB databases
Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP environments
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve availability and performance issues
Bonus Skills (Preferred)
Experience with:
Ansible
GitHub
Unix Shell Scripting
Python
Monitoring tools: Splunk, ELK, Grafana
Familiarity with ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, and Change Management)
