Role Overview

As part of our dynamic tech team, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and deploying software solutions that are integral to our clients' digital experiences. You will work alongside talented engineers in an open, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform technical aspects of software development, including design, prototyping, and coding.
Architect, design, and develop systems while driving consistent improvement practices.
Spend 80% of your time coding and testing, collaborating with stakeholders for product releases.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of Amex systems and platforms.
Continuously refactor code and utilize visualization to accelerate concepts and improvements.
Identify and adopt innovative technologies for development.
Provide ongoing support for application availability and issue resolution.
Collaborate with product owners to prioritize features and technical requirements.
Research, learn, and implement emerging technologies.
Investigate software components, identify code defects, and resolve issues.
Deploy and monitor applications across test, integration, and production environments.
Automatically scale applications based on demand projections.
Influence team members through innovative improvements and risk-taking.

Minimum Qualifications:

2+ years of software development experience with expertise in building data-driven products.
Strong computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, complexity analysis, and problem-solving.
Proficiency in any programming language such as Java or Python, with a willingness to learn new languages.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix tools and environments.

Technical Expertise:

Experience with large-scale platform engineering and cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
Understanding of AI/ML ecosystems, including frameworks like Airflow, JupyterLab, and MLFlow.
Proficiency in object-oriented design, Python, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
Knowledge of distributed systems concepts (load balancing, shards, distributed transactions).
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

Preferred Skills:

Experience building scalable AI/ML algorithms from design to deployment.
Expertise in developing web services, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with distributed systems using Spark and Hive in Hadoop at scale.
Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-platform development.
