The Role:
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated R&D Specialist to lead our Research & Development department, focusing on innovation in sustainability and wellbeing-focused products for workers. This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our product development and deliver meaningful impact.

You will also be responsible for overseeing HMRC R&D Tax Credit claims, ensuring qualifying projects are well-documented and compliant with UK government incentives for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver R&D projects in the areas of sustainability, PPE, and worker wellbeing
  • Conduct materials research and develop prototypes using sustainable, biodegradable, and recycled materials
  • Drive innovation in health and wellness product design
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of HMRC R&D Tax Credit claims
  • Collaborate with finance and external advisors to ensure proper documentation and compliance
  • Coordinate across product, compliance, and marketing teams to bring concepts to market
  • Monitor regulatory changes, technical trends, and emerging opportunities in our sectors
  • Contribute to technical reports, patent applications, and testing processes

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree essential; PhD highly desirable in a relevant field such as Materials Science, Environmental Science, Product Design, or Biomedical Engineering
  • Proven experience in an R&D role within sustainability, PPE, or health/wellbeing sectors
  • Familiarity with HMRC R&D Tax Credit schemes and documentation processes
  • Strong technical writing, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated success in innovative product development
