Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) is seeking a highly skilled consultant to lead loan recovery efforts for the Women's Livelihood Bond™ (WLB) Series. The consultant will focus on loan restructuring, distressed asset management, and borrower negotiations within microfinance institutions (MFIs), financial institutions (FIs), or impact investment portfolios.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial risk management, debt restructuring, and credit recovery regulations in India, Kenya, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
This role requires direct interaction with borrowers, financial institutions, and legal advisors to implement effective recovery strategies while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Loan Recovery & Restructuring
???? Assess and prioritize stressed loans, conducting financial due diligence to determine recovery strategies.
???? Lead direct borrower negotiations for settlements and structured repayment plans.
???? Develop loan restructuring strategies that balance repayment capacity with recovery maximization.
???? Coordinate collaborative recovery solutions with lenders and financial institutions.
???? Ensure a solution-oriented approach to recoveries while strictly adhering to loan agreements.
Regulatory Oversight & Compliance
???? Ensure compliance with financial regulations and debt recovery laws in target markets.
???? Monitor regulatory risks associated with asset recovery, borrower negotiations, and loan restructuring.
???? Collaborate with legal teams and financial regulators to align recovery actions with ethical lending practices.
???? Maintain country-specific knowledge on debt restructuring, insolvency, and loan settlements.
???? Ensure all documentation and reporting for loan recovery activities are complete and compliant.

✅ Non-Performing Loan (NPL) Reduction – Reduction in loan defaults and portfolio risk.
???? Experience: 15+ years in MFIs, FIs, development finance institutions, or impact investment portfolios.
???? Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of loan recovery and restructuring laws in Cambodia, the Philippines, India, Kenya, and Indonesia.
???? Negotiation Expertise: Proven experience in borrower negotiations, loan settlements, and structured repayment plans.
???? Distressed Asset Management: Experience working with MFIs, banks, and impact investment funds.
???? Financial Analysis: Strong credit risk assessment, repayment modeling, and financial analysis skills.
???? Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; additional skills in Hindi, Swahili, Bahasa Indonesia, Khmer, or Filipino are a plus.
